How patti came to be
Grace Shepherd from Berggren Architects, P.C. created Patti’s iconic image and slogan: “We can preserve it!” Originally a firm mascot, Patti’s potential quickly grew beyond our team.
Every purchase of Patti merchandise supports APT’s Equity Scholarship Fund.
Launched in 2022 with support from the Getty Foundation, the APT Equity Scholars Program provides funding for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color) students and professionals to attend APT’s annual conference.
The Association for Preservation Technology International (APT) and its Inclusion Advocacy Committee are dedicated to fostering equity and cultural diversity within the historic preservation field.

Supporting Future Preservationists
The Association for Preservation Technology selects scholarship recipients each year. Our goal is to raise funds and increase the number of equity scholars that can attend.
SELECTED SCHOLARS
The APT Equity Scholarship empowers future preservationists by funding their attendance at the APT Conference, connecting them with industry experts, hands-on learning, and opportunities to learn, grow, and shape the field.
Selected scholars receive conference registration, a travel stipend, meal allowance, shared hotel accommodations for four nights, and more.
